Ronald Alex School (ADENTA)

A young Ghanaian founded a facility in Adenta (located approximately 15 km from Accra) in 2015, with support from a generous Italian man. The facility includes a kindergarten, primary school, and junior high school, and serves a social purpose in the neighbourhood by providing low-cost education to many families who reside in the area. The school began with 25 students and now has more than 200 enrolled.

About Campaign

Since 2021, GIWA has been supporting vulnerable students, particularly orphans or those with difficult family situations, identified by the school’s principal, John Ronald Nuako. In 2022, GIWA continued to support 10 children (2 in kindergarten and 8 in elementary school) with scholarships as they showed good results and were promoted to the next grade. GIWA conducted several monitoring visits during the year to ensure the attendance of scholarship recipients and to maintain a positive relationship with the school community. These visits provided insight into the challenges faced by families in the area and the academic progress of the students.
The school partners with an international volunteer network that welcomes foreign volunteers and fosters a culture of exchange and growth. In 2022, GIWA met three highly motivated volunteers from Europe who brought their experience and sensitivity to the school. The facility is still under construction and will have 18 classrooms that can accommodate approximately 20 students each upon completion.
