About Campaign
In 2022, as part of its health promotion efforts, GIWA continued its efforts to empower women and enable them to make informed decisions regarding their health. Providing women with education on hygiene and health serves as a critical step towards achieving gender equality, eradicating poverty, and promoting inclusive economic growth. To this end, GIWA secured a donation of GHC 38,000 worth of medicines.
Throughout the year, GIWA held several meetings with Father Subash of City of God to assess the needs of the population residing in Old Fadama, the capital’s poorest area. The discussions highlighted the significance of working with adolescent girls to provide them with proper health and reproductive education, and to increase their awareness of individual choices pertaining to education, work, and relationships. This also included addressing the issues of early marriages and teenage pregnancies, which were exacerbated by the pandemic throughout the country.
In 2022, GIWA committed to coordinating the necessary resources and funding, in collaboration with stakeholders, to design the most effective intervention for girls. These meetings were aimed at determining the best course of action to provide support to adolescent girls in the area.

It’s important to regularly step back and think about how our everyday actions impact the planet. Right now, there are 150 million metric tons of plastic in our oceans—and we’re releasing an additional 8 million metric tons each year. Plastic pollution exists almost everywhere in the ocean, from the remote seas of the Arctic to the floor of the deep sea.
